Lake Murray Sunrise

It was an early flight to Dallas out of CAE, I knew the flight plan and glide path for where we would be flying through the sky. Right before take off, I texted my wife, Ashley and told her to keep an eye out because I knew we'd be passing by the house...I made sure to get a seat on the starboard side (right) side of the airplane because I had a specific shot I needed to get. I slapped a prime 55mm f1.2 lens on my Sony A7rii and anxiously got ready for takeoff. For those of you who know me well are aware I have an irrational fear of flying, Over time, I have learned to run towards fear and treat it as an exhilarating adventure. When we started cruising up to a good altitude we were in a break through the clouds. I had dreamed about this shot for a long time. I had studied the lighting and conditions and knew it wouldn't be possible from a drone, helo or smaller aircraft. When I finally got home after this trip to Texas, I printed this bad boy on High Gloss Aluminum and slapped it on my office wall. SHEESH it's so detailed and beautiful up close. I truly think Aluminum is the highest quality print and needs to be the main medium this piece is delivered on. It's such an impactful shot for this who live on Lake Murray to have as it gives a great perspective unlike any other for where we're at.
